Great place to stay in Siargao
Just finishing a lovely and relaxing three night stay at Soultribe Beach retreat. This small and welcoming beach front resort has some gorgeous villas that provide luxury and comfort with a rustic experience. The outdoor bathrooms are an amazing way to feel close to nature.
Visiting Siargao in February, not for those looking for sunny weather. It's rained pretty much nonstop during our stay.
Soultribe has been the perfect place to hide from the weather with lots of games and good company. General Luna only a short tuk to ride away too.
Breakfasts were delicious! Thank you for making us so welcome to the whole Soultribe team and especially Ivy who went above and beyond. We recommend joining a yoga class during your stay here.

Don't go to this resort
Was horrible ,the host was hosting a cult like celebration for a visiting indian chief when we complained about the noise and the continual chanting over random visitors all night up until about 11 pm she was very condescending towards us and we felt uncomfortable her response was if we didn't like it we could leave. The room was small and smelly from the fire that the fruit loop chief was dancing around and chanting over random people that were walking into the resort during the night. There is no fridge, no TV, no water pressure, no hot water , bugs in the bed, mosquitoes all through the room, we were told by the staff to put our used toilet paper in a bin alongside the toilet (discusting) we were feeling uncomfortable to use the facilities and the beach because of the indian chiefs chanting so we stayed in our room. We left after one night it was so bad and we had to find other accommodation which ruined our holiday that we were looking forward to and had planned for and saved for a long time to enjoy. Don't ever stay at this Soul Tribe Resort in Siargao and warn everybody you know to beware of this overpriced and crap resort.

First, Cabana 1 is accurately described on our website and booking platforms, including its size and listed amenities. We understand that room size preferences vary, but we aim to present all information transparently so guests can make informed decisions.
Regarding the toilet concern, our maintenance team did inspect the bathroom shortly after it was reported and confirmed there was no active leak, though we continued to monitor it.
As for plumbing, like many boutique and beachfront properties in Siargao, we follow local island infrastructure guidelines, which require used toilet paper to be placed in a bin to prevent pipe blockages. This is common practice in many parts of the Philippines and other island destinations.
Towels are refreshed every three days as part of our eco-conscious water conservation efforts, though replacements are always available upon request. Similarly, hot water systems on the island may require a short lead time, and this information is shared with guests during check-in.
Cabana 1 is intentionally designed as a minimalist beachfront space and therefore does not include a refrigerator or kettle. These amenities are listed clearly prior to booking.
With respect to the cultural gathering you described, this was a one-time private event honoring a visiting local leader and involved traditional spiritual practices. It concluded just after 9:00 PM in accordance with local guidelines. We understand that the atmosphere may not have aligned with your expectations; however, the event was conducted respectfully and was not a “cult” activity as characterized in your review. Cultural and spiritual ceremonies are part of island life, and we strive to balance authenticity with guest comfort.
When you expressed dissatisfaction, we offered a full refund for the unused portion of your stay so you could relocate if you preferred. This was intended as a solution to ensure you were not obligated to remain somewhere you were unhappy. As explained, refunds are processed via bank transfer for security and accounting compliance, which may take several business days depending on the banking institution.
We respectfully disagree with the characterization that we “did not care.” Our team works hard to provide a peaceful and authentic beachfront experience, and we remain committed to transparency, cultural respect, and continuous improvement.

Tragic
We had to run away. Dirty, rooms on the street with a hell of a noise, cockroaches under my pillow and I woke up with a long worm walking on my arm. And also very expensive. Without words

We are not surprised by this review nor the previous one. These guests demanded a full refund before even staying with us. We have also reported this group for guest misconduct as they threatened our staff, disturbed other guests and tried to intimidate us with threats to use their positions as journalist and a lawyer to tarnish our reputation. We offered to re-open the room and refund the nights rebooked and they refused this even though we had no obligation to do so. I am the owner and I have sent all communications with the guest to bookings.com for review, these guests find it offensive to not allow bullying and intimidation by an establishment. I stand by my team and by our ethos and we will not tolerate this kind of behaviour towards our staff nor towards our establishment.

WARNING to future travelers:
Do not be fooled by the pictures or the description. This place is not what it looks like online. What we found was an unacceptable, unsanitary, and extremely noisy accommodation and safety concerns, along with a host who acted with zero responsibility.
This was, without exaggeration, one of the most disturbing and disgusting travel experiences of my life — and I travel frequently.

• Worms and bugs were crawling inside the beds, found under the sheets, beneath both pillows, and even inside the mattress itself.
• The entire sleeping area was infested. We lifted the sheets and pillows and found worms and bugs. Check the fotos
• cockroach’s found in the bathroom, and multiple other insects and small creatures were inside the room.
• The sofa was heavily stained, dusty, and emitted an unpleasant smell.
• Next to the room was an actual garbage dump, producing a constant and disgusting stench.
• The room had no proper sealing, so insects, smells, and outside dirt easily entered.

The room is located just a few meters from a busy main road — something not mentioned anywhere in the listing.
All day and night, there was a constant stream of cars, motorbikes, trucks, and buses passing by. There is no soundproofing at all, so sleeping was impossible. It felt like trying to rest in the middle of traffic.

Management: evasive, dishonest, and abusive
The on-site staff were kind and sympathetic. However, the owner was completely absent and refused to deal with the situation. When we asked for help via WhatsApp, we were told he was “shopping in South Africa” and had no time to respond.
Instead of helping, the management tried to push us into cancelling the booking ourselves, so they could relist the room and avoid giving a refund. When we refused and filed a formal complaint through Booking.com, we were falsely accused of “verbal threats” against the staff — a completely fabricated and insulting response meant to silence our complaint.
Let me be absolutely clear:
• We were calm and respectful at all times.
• We never threatened anyone.
• The only thing we stated was that we would leave a truthful review — which we are doing now.

This property is a health hazard, a scam, and a noise nightmare. It should not be listed on Booking.com or any serious platform.

Quiet spot away from the hustle.
We had a loft villa for 3 of us , did not realise it was across the road from the beach and other villas.
No fridge
No place for luggage bags
One mini AC upstairs and one small AC for main room , very inefficient.
PowerPoints not in useful places , could not plug in fan , or use anything on bedside tables.
Pedestal fan doesn’t work looks brand new though
Good and quick communication via WhatsApp, manager was very helpful.
Free use of paddle board
Is a little secluded - 20 min on tuk tuk to General Luna .
