Breath of fresh air!
The staff were all so kind, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. They always seemed to know what we needed before we even had to ask, which made us feel so well taken care of. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality really stood out and made our stay even more special.
The food was honestly one of the highlights of our stay. Everything we had was delicious, the servings were generous, and the breakfast buffet was so good. We especially enjoyed the Filipino dishes and the wide variety of viands—there was plenty to choose from, and everything we tried was flavorful.
Just a couple of things to keep in mind: there’s no mobile phone signal in the area, but the Wi-Fi was surprisingly strong, so staying connected wasn’t a problem when we needed it. There were also a few power interruptions in the morning, which was a bit unusual, but they were brief and didn’t really affect our stay.
There’s not much to do outside the resort, but that’s honestly part of the charm. It’s the perfect place to disconnect, relax, and fully immerse yourself in nature. We enjoyed every part of our stay and would definitely love to come back.

Read Until the End
To begin with the positives, the hard product is beautifully designed. The setting is stunning, the beach is small but charming, and the water is among the clearest I have seen in the Philippines. The activities are well-organized, competitively priced, and supported by a team of genuinely kind people. Although I have done more boat tours than I can count, I thoroughly enjoyed Manami’s island-hopping experience and the barbecue lunch served on board.
The challenge is that the resort appears to be aging far more quickly than it should. Despite being only three years old, many of the common areas already feel worn and neglected. Public restrooms were frequently wet and unattended, pool towels were threadbare and overdue for replacement, and several seat cushions were visibly stained. These may seem like small details individually, but collectively they create an impression that the property is not being maintained to the standard expected of a luxury resort.
Our room was spacious and thoughtfully designed, but cleanliness was a recurring concern. We found used false eyelashes and hair that clearly did not belong to us. Some remained for days and were only addressed after I raised the issue. In fact, not all of it was removed. Cleanliness is one of the most basic expectations of any hotel, regardless of category, and certainly of a property positioning itself as luxury.
Unfortunately, the same concerns extended to the pools. During our stay, the water appeared murky, there were dead lizards present, and green buildup was visible along portions of the pool lining. Both pools are also quite small relative to the number of rooms, which can make the resort feel crowded during peak occupancy.
Another surprising policy was that complimentary tea and coffee are not automatically replenished during housekeeping unless specifically requested. Even many midscale hotels routinely refresh these amenities without guests having to ask, so this felt like an unusual omission.
Food was another area where expectations were not met. Portions were modest, and while some dishes were enjoyable, the overall quality, presentation, freshness, and execution fell short of what I would expect at this price point. Breakfast was particularly disappointing. The selection felt limited, there was no real yogurt available during our stay, and the offerings leaned heavily toward local Filipino dishes with few alternatives. Guests are also charged extra for anything beyond standard brewed coffee.
The staff were consistently warm, friendly, and eager to help. I genuinely appreciated their kindness and willingness to accommodate requests. However, there was a noticeable lack of proactive service and internal communication. Prior to arrival, we were assured that children’s amenities would be available, yet it took three days after check-in for them to materialize. My birthday also passed without any acknowledgment, despite it being the primary reason for planning this trip in the first place.
I am writing this review with kindness because I recognize that no resort is perfect. What often separates good properties from great ones is how they respond when things go wrong. To Manami’s credit, the team listened to feedback, attempted service recovery, and never became defensive despite the considerable criticism I shared during our stay. That willingness to listen is commendable and gives me hope for the future.
Manami is not without charm. The location is beautiful, the design is attractive, and the people are genuinely lovely. The resort has all the ingredients needed to become a truly exceptional destination. However, luxury hospitality is ultimately about execution, consistency, attention to detail, and maintenance. Until those areas improve significantly, I believe the resort is best viewed as a promising property with luxury aspirations rather than a luxury resort in practice.

Relaxing and fun stay at manami
A special thank you to **Danilo, Ompong, and Jade** from the Experience Center for taking such great care of us from start to finish. They were warm, professional, attentive, and genuinely made sure every member of our large group was comfortable, safe, and having fun. Managing a group of 14 isn't easy, but they handled everything seamlessly with smiles and exceptional hospitality.
The boat ride itself was relaxing, well-organized, and allowed us to enjoy the beautiful scenery while creating unforgettable family memories. It's the kind of experience that reminds you why excellent service makes all the difference.
Thank you, Manami Resort, for an amazing experience, and kudos to Danilo, Ompong, and Jade for going above and beyond. They are a true asset to your team, and we look forward to coming back!
