As always, spectacular! The staff treatment is excellent.. Waiters, reception, kitchen, ironing, paellas, maintenance… everything great. Next year… there again…

Never come back
We stayed in Best Meritim with our 8-year-old child on a full-board basis. Unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing.
Cons:
* The bathroom door is basically a roller-style sliding door, leaving around a 2 cm gap around the edges. There is almost no sound or smell insulation at all. On top of that, the bathroom itself had a noticeable sewage smell.
* The room was extremely small, and the walls felt paper-thin. You could clearly hear people in the neighbouring room, including very private bathroom noises.
* There was often an unpleasant smell coming from the street. The surrounding area also felt dirty, with rubbish and urine smells, and there was regularly a homeless person near the Auchan.
* The sofa bed in the room was in very poor condition. There was a hole near the headboard area, the base was uneven and distorted, and it was uncomfortable to sleep on even for a child.
* The pool area was a constant struggle. Many umbrellas were damaged, and there seemed to be at least three times fewer umbrellas than sun loungers. Even the loungers themselves were not enough. People started reserving them very early in the morning, and umbrellas were sometimes taken from other guests because there simply were not enough.
*No shared mattress is available, it’s just 2 single beds. Even cheapest hotel could merge 2 single beds into 2 big, but not the Best Meritim
* The dishes in the restaurant were often dirty on both sides. Several times I picked up a plate and my hand got dirty with mayonnaise or leftover food from someone else’s meal. This happened repeatedly, not just once.
* During heavy rain, the hotel had serious flooding issues. Dinner was delayed, parts of the buffet area were wet, there were puddles on the floor, and water was dripping from the ceiling, in some places directly near the food. The electricity also kept cutting out. What surprised us most was that there was no apology or gesture from the hotel. Even offering guests complimentary soft drinks would have helped ease the situation. Instead, part of the dining area was closed and guests were let in gradually while staff carefully checked the full-board lists, creating an additional queue in an already chaotic situation.
* The coffee was consistently poor, both in the buffet restaurant and at the bar. It tasted unpleasantly sour.
* The food itself was average and often repetitive. It was also quite obvious that leftovers were reused in later dishes; for example, meat from dinner would appear in soup the next day. Seafood options were very limited.
* Never book a taxi through the hotel. We were quoted €240 for three people to the airport. In our opinion, this was completely unreasonable.
* There is very little to do either inside the hotel or in the immediate surroundings.
Pros:
* The location is convenient.
* Housekeeping was good, and the room was cleaned properly.
* The animation programme may be enjoyable if you speak Spanish, but otherwise it is very difficult to participate and you can feel excluded.
Overall, we would not return to this hotel and, based on this experience, we would not choose this hotel chain again. It is obviously that owner do not invest into hotel, it’s just a cash cow.

Tourist trap.
Let's start with the positive:
Ideal location right by the sea.
Activity pretty good.
Very kind and efficient housekeeping service
Varied buffet
Among the elements that are truly unworthy of a 4-star hotel:
1/ despite full board you are forced to buy drinks, there is no self-service water (never seen that)
Tip: bring your own water (allowed)
2/ wifi present but unstable and weak therefore unusable
3/ the hallway walls are unfinished and very deteriorated.
4/ the staff at the reception is not always pleasant, several times had the impression of bothering…(few speak French and no effort to understand)
5/ in our accommodation (yet a suite) the shower was unusable (forced to have them intervene)
the doors are eaten away by humidity due to not choosing good materials, the AC was leaking (it was still leaking when we left)
6/ the AC is insufficient, turned off upon arrival (95 degrees when arriving) forced to run it at full blast all the time and as a result very very noisy.
7/ if you want a spot at the pool you will have to do like everyone else, bring your towel and place it on the lounge chair all day long …
8/ no latch to close the toilet and bathroom, very practical for a family with a teenager….
Regarding the general atmosphere, you have to like the style … (not at all a family atmosphere, more of a club for hipsters or elderly people…)
In short, sure to never return there ….

Nice friendly hotel
Great hotel friendly staff neat room lovely shower and good bed ,although the double bed 2 pushed together beds we found a little less.Prima kitchen variety enough.Min point is that there were plates with gluten allergy but no plates for lactose intolerance.Verder a lovely pool.Fine close to the beach.We enjoyed, hope they can take more into account allergies.Definitely a hotel to come back.

Excellent location and value... recommend
The room came with a kettle and tea and coffee packs, a fridge, and a safe. We didn't have to pay anything extra outside of the €27 Spanish tourist tax ...We had sun in the morning in our balcony so the room was nice and cool in the evening. We got the breakfast and dinner, half board option. The food was excellent, with a huge selection. Many items were made fresh while you waited. The queues for the food were never long as the hotel kept the food in different areas. We had entertainment at night and drink was very reasonable. The beach was literally outside the back of the hotel and a bus stop outside the front door ...we were only about 10 minute walk to Salou ... . Great area for cyclist with a range of bikes to rent out.
