Delightful Base for Exploring the Somme Valley

Le Bien-Venant is a great discovery. Offering B&B rooms and self-catering, it provides flexible options, whether for one overnight 'pit-stop' or for longer (I stayed for 5 nights). Easily accessible, it is an excellent base for exploring the Somme Valley. My room was self-catering, but with Continental breakfast. The rooms were immaculately clean and well-equipped. Breakfast was very nice indeed, often with home-made touches. The home's garden is pretty - think 'roses' and ducks! The host family is charming and thoughtful, offering unintrusive recommendations with style. The package was good value in a competitive market. I will certainly, and gladly, return.

Wonderful local lodging and garden

The proprietors are friendly and very helpful. They were very accommodating with our last minute booking and even invited us to dinner just 30 minutes before the meal was to be served. While we declined the offer and dined at a quaint local restaurant in the nearest town where it was difficult to find someone who spoke English (perfect). The surrounding vegetable and flower gardens are a beautiful place to stroll and enjoy some tea or take photographs at sunrise. The breakfast consisted of homemade yogurt, fresh breads, jams, a variety of fresh cheeses and much more. Just one day here was not enough. So glad our road trip brought us here. We hope to visit again.

Lovely place but we wouldn't return

This is a lovely place run by a lovely couple. However, we are very light sleepers so we had pre booked a quiet room. We asked for a twin bedded room and were given accommodation that had a double bed downstairs (where the bathroom/wc is) and twin beds upstairs on an open mezzanine. ALL beds squeaked a fair bit as did the wooden staircase so when one of us moved the other woke up. Couldn't go to the bathroom without waking the other person up. Also, the room was right on the edge of a road, and whilst the area is quiet any vehicle noise woke us up, An awful night's sleep, so we cancelled a booking we had made for the return trip. Back to the positives, if we were not light sleepers we would definitely use the place again. Their breakfasts are very good indeed and once again, the people are really good/nice.

Superb place to stop over to discover the Baie de Somme

We absolutely loved our stop at Le Bien Venant. The place is gorgeous, full of charm and has been beautifully restored by its owners. The garden is a great size and everyone can find a quiet spot to relax, have a pic nic and enjoy a drink. We stopped there on our way back to England - a welcomed stopover for our young kids - and this place was great to explore the Baie de Somme area. We stayed in a quadrupuple room which was ideal for our family of 5 (including our toddler who slept in a cot bed). Good breakfast, clean premises, friendly welcome (the owners speak very good English). We will definitely come back!
