Beautiful Mood on the Neisse

The hotel is housed in an old mill. The rooms are spacious - the breakfast buffet as well. Those arriving with an electric vehicle can charge it with green electricity from the in-house hydroelectric power plant. Restaurant Obermühle is also worth a visit. In the city centre there is the partner restaurant Salü, where you can stretch your feet between locals and guests after exploring the city.

Mediocre

The restaurant appeared to us to be unfortunately unkempt and uncomfortable both inside and outside. The service was adequate, but the food was unfortunately only mediocre in taste and preparation.

Good place to stay

We stayed at the hotel for one night and very pleased with the simple cozy rooms. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast good and plentiful. The food in the evening was unfortunately cold and only average in quality. We cannot understand the excellent photos on the net. For that we found it very expensive. Highlights include the in-house beer.

I have mixed feelings about the kitchen....

It was my first time in this place, unfortunately I get the impression that foreigners are definitely not welcome here, the menu is very meagre, as if someone had no idea how to attract guests.
The menu was full of regional names, we had to ask what they serve for what, nothing is clearly noted on the menu as if it were on the principle of "ordering a cat in a bag", which means nothing specific.
Finally, after 40 minutes, after a small intervention by the person organizing the family reunion, the staff suggested other options that were not on the menu, and we were able to order something, but....
The ordered lemonade was ready from the bottle, but we got a good pork chop with new potatoes, without dill, and instead of a healthy salad a ready salad mixture in miniature bowls.
The place is beautiful by the river, it has a lot of potential, but lacks a firm hand and a chef who puts together a clear and understandable menu for everyone, especially as it is a restaurant right on the border with Poland.
The staff tried to help as best they could, and we are very grateful for that, but the kitchen is the heart of any restaurant, the heart is missing and it's quite simple, someone just doesn't want or has no idea for everything.
Thanks again to all the staff for your efforts in the service of our group, you did what you could to save the situation.
