It's my home city and it has the best of everything: gorgeous beaches, beautiful mountains, stunning scenery and delicious food and drink. It's the perfect place to escape a northern hemisphere winter.
The western cape has so much to offer, there are the famous tourist attractions such as Table mountain and the cablecar and the penguins at Betty’s Bay ( better than Boulder beach ) but the real gems take a bit more looking for. Hire a car and drive the garden route but visit Swellendam and Oudsthorn and Prince Albert, here is South Africa and the home of hospitality. Go to Stellenbosch and visit Rust - en - Vrede for lunch, simple menu and just fantastic. Watch the local beautiful people mix with affluent tourists, great entertainment. Try Somerset West in the evening, Bluewaters has brilliant sushi for next to nothing, or just meander round a vineyard taking in the views and having a glass or two of fresh and young white wine. Cape Town is just a great place to start your adventure, the best time to go is Jan/Feb when the Xmas holidays are over. The hotels and apartments are readily available and moderately priced and the weather is at its best. Car hire is fairly cheap as is fuel, roads are good and pretty empty once out of Cape Town and driving is very enjoyable as it’s right hand drive. Flights are also cheap in winter with return trips from about £500. For £1500 you can have a wonderful 2 weeks in a stunning location with some of the worlds best food and drink and the friendliest people anywhere. Don’t put it off, just go.
Cape Town is indeed o è of the most beautiful cities in the world. Beaches, mountains, great night life, vibrant culture. It has all
Cape Town was amazing! You’re in a large city surrounded by ocean, mountains, and vineyards! The biggest downside is the crime. We had no problems but you must always be aware of your surroundings
